I don't think I've officially announced it on this thang.... IT'S A BOY!!!

We found out December 18th what our little one is. We're sooooo excited!! They gave us an actual DVD of the ultrasound so we can watch whenever we want our little boy move all around and lift his little head up to see what's goin' on!!! We showed the DVD to EVERYONE over the holidays so our son is already famous! He is soooo cute!! You can see his little nose and mouth and I just love him so much!! I just can't explain the moment the tech said very nonchalantly to us: "It's a little boy." Time just seemed to have stop right then and there. Marc and I wanted to scream but we couldn't because this lady wasn't really the most bubbling-with-joy woman we've ever met and didn't really have a personality, so we didn't want to annoy her. Marc was already videotaping the entire thang, so I think she was already ready to get this crazy couple outta there! :) Our baby's name is Mason Thomas. Mason was Marc's grandfather's name (Connie's dad) who inspired Marc to be an eye doctor. He sounds like an amazing person, much like my PaPaw, and I'm so sad I was never able to meet him. He died when Marc was 13. Thomas is my mom's maiden name, so my MaMaw & PaPaw's last name. I never got to meet that PaPaw since he died when my mom was little, but my MaMaw Thomas is one of my bestest friends! She will be 94 years old in March and has been suffering from Alzheimer's for about 11 years. She is the sweetest person in the entire world. She is one of the most special ladies I have ever met and I hope little Mason has a chance to know her, too. I pray that Mason will have as special of a relationship with his grandparents as Marc and I have had with ours. I wish we could give him 5 names because my MaMaw Myers is also one of the most amazing, Christian women I have ever known!! I am so incredibly blessed that my parents both have such wonderful moms.

I am now 21 weeks pregnant!! Woo hoo!! Here are the last belly shots taken on Christmas Eve when I was 19 1/2 weeks:

It's a Start!!!

We've accomplished so much these last couple of days! I ordered our baby bedding on Thursday and today we went to U.S.A. Baby one last time to finalize our furniture order!! I'm soooo excited!! I cant' wait for it to all get here so we can start putting this precious child's room together!! Here are some pics of our new purchases:

The New "Mommy" Haircut

Well, last Friday before we left to spend Christmas with Marc's family in KY, I decided I needed a haircut. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do, but I knew I needed a change since I hadn't had a "fresh" haircut in so long. I didn't even really prepare Marc for what I was about to do. :) I found this salon about 2 minutes from our house and I loved it! I am definitely going back and taking my momma with me!! I'm really glad I loved it, cuz it was about to be seen by about 50 sides of our families for 5 days straight!!! I think it's been a hit, and Marc (I hope!!) is getting used to it. In KY, Marc's 2nd cousin, Hanna, propped me up and took some pics of it to practice her "photography" skills. :) Here are some close-ups of the new 'do at our Christmas festivities...

Cuttin' up with Granddad in the serving line.... Marc's grandfather

In the deepest conversation with Marc's grandmother, Nanny, and his cousin, Monica... I was telling them the name of our baby!!

Moore Family Christmas

We had one of the best Christmases ever this year! The time we spent with our family was way overdue and we made so many great memories. Of course, there is a little bit extra excitement this year with the upcoming addition to our families. :) We spent 4 days in Madisonville, KY with Marc's mom's side of the family, a day in Greenville, KY with Marc's dad's side, and then Christmas Eve night & Christmas Day with my dad's family and my immediate family. We saw so many family members that we really haven't been able to spend quality time with in a long time due to all of our crazy schedules. We laughed our heads off the entire time, with both families. Our families are so crazy, but that's why we love them so. :) Below are pics of our time spent with Marc's family. Check back soon for the post about my family's Christmas. I have so much work ahead of me working on these posts!! :)

Opening gifts with Marc's parents & brother

Johnathan loves his momma!!

Marc's 2nd cousin, Hannah, joined us so she could be the elf & photographer! :)

Marc FINALLY got some old man house shoes! They have not left his feet since we have been home. He has to walk all around the house in them.

Revealing to Marc's entire family the name of our son... the second we got to his parents' house, we had to sit in the middle of the room and pull names out of the "? Moore" Suggestion Box of all the silly names the family suggested we name our baby. We also presented Connie with a special bag embroidered for her with the baby's name on it. It was a very emotional moment for everyone since we're naming our baby after Marc's grandfather.

Connie & her twin sis, Bonnie, pilfering through the bag of goodies

Marc's cousin, Mace, & his wife, Ginny, brought their adorable little puppy with them all the way from Mississippi for the weekend. Her name is Foxy and she was our sweet baby!

Cousins, Second cousins, & cousin-in-laws

All of us (Connie's bros & sis' & their families)

We love Marc's second cousins, Baylee & Hanna. They were the flower girls in our wedding. I cannot believe how big they are getting! They make us feel so old!

I have no clue...The whole family singing out hearts out to "The 12 Days of Christmas"... a family tradition.

We are sooooo incredibly blessed to have families that love to laugh and love on each other!!! I pray your Christmases were as unforgettable as ours!

Jody & Christy's Engagement Party

Mom & me getting ready for the big night by treating ourselves to a makeover at "Private Edition" in Green Hills
Doesn't he look sooo handsome all dressed up?? Love him!

Lovin' on my hubby & my brother, Jody - the very proud uncle-to-be! :)

I love my new future sister-in-law!

Jody chillin' with our cousins, Christy & Tim, who drove in from Indiana

The women being silly and not really knowing what to do with themselves... my cousin (Cathy), my mom, my Aunt Tizzie, and my MaMaw (my dad's mom)... Why is Aunt Tizzie holding up her chicken? Thank you.

My beautiful cousin, Cathy... her son, Dakota, was the ringbearer in my wedding and will be in Jody & Christy's wedding as well

Christy showing off her gorgeous ring to my Aunt Tizzie

Jody introducing MaMaw to some close family friend of Christy's family... hmm... All the older men were checking her out!!

Christy with her parents & brother... What a great picture of them!

Christy's dad, Noro, giving a toast... He is a wonderful song-writer and musician!

I love this one of them listening to Christy's dad's toast...

Marc and my cousin, Tim... Tim was my roomie for a while when I first moved to Louisville for grad school, so Marc and I hung out with him often

Marc chillin' with the girls of my family on one of the cool sofas

My Uncle Mark & Aunt Karen showing some of their ballroom dancing moves... They really steal the show! :)
Kevin & Keith... these guys (they're actually twins!) have been 2 of Jody's best friends since they were about 13 years old... Keith will be Jody's "best man"

I've been wanting to share with y'all a very fun and exciting night for our family! We celebrated Jody's (my brother) and Christy's engagement at the Lay'la Lounge Saturday night, Dec. 1st. It's this cool, trendy place between the Boundry & Southstreet Restaurants on 20th Avenue. If you've been watching "The Hills," this place really reminds me of some of the places they go and eat on that show. (I know, am I 18????) It was cocktail attire and after plenty of discussions and explanations, I finally convinced my husband that "cocktail" does not mean khakis & a golf shirt! Thank you. :) So, we got ourselves all dressed up and meandered on downtown with my parents in the family van. The party was for the wedding party, Jody's & Christy's parents, aunts, uncles, & grandparents, and other very close family friends. We even had some family drive in from out of town, so it was a great excuse to see relatives we don't get to see very often. It was just a preview of what that beautiful day in May will be like! :) Enjoy some pics above from the evening...
