New Year's Weekend 2008

Okay, okay, I know I'm a little behind times JUST NOW posting pics from New Year's, but I promise I'm slowly catching up and will be up-to-date very soon! :) We had a wonderful 3-day celebration with our friends for New Year's; beginning with a home-cooked dinner prepared by Beth & Jana's moms at Beth's parents house in Murfreesboro, our traditional New Year's Eve get-together that was at Cory & Andrea's this year (we take turns each year), and a downhome country breakfast at Cracker Barrel on New Year's Day. I LOVE spending time with these people and am always sad when the time is over!! We try to get together as much as we can, but it's hard lately to get all of us together with Seth & Carrie in Memphis, Beth in Texas, John & Jamie in Morganfield, KY, and the rest of us spread out all over Nashville! We're now all slowly growing our families, as Seth & Colt's baby boy, Colt, is about to turn one; Mason on the way for Marc & me; and a little one on the way for John & Jamie due in September!!! New Year's next year definitely won't be the same! :)

Friends' Dinner at the Herndons'

Colt hamming it up for the camera! He was giggling and laughin' and making the cutest little noises ever!!
New Year's Eve at the Brostos'

The boys were into a serious game of Rock Band! Johnathan got it for Christmas and Marc was especially the most excited to try it out!! They were playing it the entire night and ignoring everything us girls were saying! Thank you! So us girlies just went into the kitchen and sat on the floor and exchanged gifts. Random.

My favorite girls in the world!!

I don't even know... But Johnathan says that this picture makes him the happiest!! Should I be in the Guiness Book of World Records for being able to do an upside down smile? Thank you. Did I spell that correctly or did I make it look like the name of a certain Irish beverage??

Wait, Andrea's supposed to be making a silly face, too, but it's not even that silly!!

The boys wanted in on the action!! Yeah, this is really how we spend our New Years'!! :)

The next few pics are some of each little family that was represented and where they live... I grew up with Andrea; Marc grew up with John; and Marc & Andrea went to Lipscomb Univ. with Carrie, Seth, Johnathan, and Brooke. AND, Marc and I went to church with Jamie in Louisville, knew she and John were meant to be the second we started talking to her, and now they're married!!! How about that?????? These people are our closest friends!!

Cory & Andrea (Nashville)

Johnathan & Brooke (Nashville)

.... and Marc, me, & Mason!!

Preparing for our traditional New Year's pic... we've taken one like this every single year since 1999!! Now we're running out of fingers to do the numbers with, so we got a little help from Andrea to make the 8!!

Marc having fun with Colt!!

Dead tired bright & early New Year's Day after our yummy breakfast! Well, it was actually 11 am or something. Everyone was about to get on the road to drive back to their homes. Time to go back to the real world of work and waking up early!! Yuck!!

Love you all!! Can't wait for the MANY more New Years' memories to come!!

Christmas with the Myers'

Finally.... more pictures from our Christmas adventures with our families!! I've already posted ones with Marc's family up in KY, so now on to celebrating with my family in TN.

Christmas Eve at Aunt Linzett & Uncle Steve's in Murfreesboro.... It is our tradition to spend Christmas Eve with this side of the family and we have never once missed a Christmas!

MaMaw Myers with her 3 kiddos and their crazy spouses

Marc and I copying Aunt Karen & Uncle's Mark pose they did for their Christmas card... My mom had just got done doing their photoshoot, so then it was our turn!! Hee hee!! I even put on Karen's fancy schmancy fur thang!!!

Us grandkids and our spouses... Jason loves his new cousin-in-law!! Jody & Christy couldn't come cuz she was sick. :(

Okay, so I'll go ahead and apologize for these next few pictures.. As you can tell and as most of you already know, my family is completely crazy and our family Christmases are even crazier!! All we do is laugh our heads off at the silliest, most perverted thangs!! Thank you. Some things never change...

But wait, why is there a brother-in-law perched up right in the middle with something on his head? Thank you. Jonathan came to my family's Christmas since he doesn't live very far away in Murfreesboro. Oh, we just took him right in!

Steph showin' off Scott's present. And then of course my mom had to add in the bow/ball contraption that was attached to her gift. I don't even know about these people...

Jonathan Moore kept pulling out his handy dandy random knife to help people open their presents... with that thang on his head the entire time

Jason bowing down to the candlesticks Erica got from my mom... He just collapsed that body down on that ground the most violently and we were all the most confused.

My mom showing off the added decoration to her present... She kept going on and on about it.

And then it ended up on her head... Why do these people keep putting things on their heads? Thank you. But I was laughing so hard at all of this commotion that I literally peed my pants. Thank you. That's not unusual for me lately.

Things calming down a bit as we celebrate Christmas Day the next day (duh!!) at our house... Just our immediate family.

Mona trying to figure out her "Mason's Grandma" bag with Jody's help

Oh, she finally understands and is the happiest!!

Look at our sweet baby being so good! She was in complete heaven surrounded by all her favorite people in the world!!

Christy was the most excited about the new sippy cup Andrea made her!! :) I have one just like it with all 3 of my initials. Love it!!

Love my family... especially that one perched right up in the middle of us all like she's a human!!

I don't think I've officially announced it on this thang.... IT'S A BOY!!!

We found out December 18th what our little one is. We're sooooo excited!! They gave us an actual DVD of the ultrasound so we can watch whenever we want our little boy move all around and lift his little head up to see what's goin' on!!! We showed the DVD to EVERYONE over the holidays so our son is already famous! He is soooo cute!! You can see his little nose and mouth and I just love him so much!! I just can't explain the moment the tech said very nonchalantly to us: "It's a little boy." Time just seemed to have stop right then and there. Marc and I wanted to scream but we couldn't because this lady wasn't really the most bubbling-with-joy woman we've ever met and didn't really have a personality, so we didn't want to annoy her. Marc was already videotaping the entire thang, so I think she was already ready to get this crazy couple outta there! :) Our baby's name is Mason Thomas. Mason was Marc's grandfather's name (Connie's dad) who inspired Marc to be an eye doctor. He sounds like an amazing person, much like my PaPaw, and I'm so sad I was never able to meet him. He died when Marc was 13. Thomas is my mom's maiden name, so my MaMaw & PaPaw's last name. I never got to meet that PaPaw since he died when my mom was little, but my MaMaw Thomas is one of my bestest friends! She will be 94 years old in March and has been suffering from Alzheimer's for about 11 years. She is the sweetest person in the entire world. She is one of the most special ladies I have ever met and I hope little Mason has a chance to know her, too. I pray that Mason will have as special of a relationship with his grandparents as Marc and I have had with ours. I wish we could give him 5 names because my MaMaw Myers is also one of the most amazing, Christian women I have ever known!! I am so incredibly blessed that my parents both have such wonderful moms.

I am now 21 weeks pregnant!! Woo hoo!! Here are the last belly shots taken on Christmas Eve when I was 19 1/2 weeks:

It's a Start!!!

We've accomplished so much these last couple of days! I ordered our baby bedding on Thursday and today we went to U.S.A. Baby one last time to finalize our furniture order!! I'm soooo excited!! I cant' wait for it to all get here so we can start putting this precious child's room together!! Here are some pics of our new purchases:

The New "Mommy" Haircut

Well, last Friday before we left to spend Christmas with Marc's family in KY, I decided I needed a haircut. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do, but I knew I needed a change since I hadn't had a "fresh" haircut in so long. I didn't even really prepare Marc for what I was about to do. :) I found this salon about 2 minutes from our house and I loved it! I am definitely going back and taking my momma with me!! I'm really glad I loved it, cuz it was about to be seen by about 50 sides of our families for 5 days straight!!! I think it's been a hit, and Marc (I hope!!) is getting used to it. In KY, Marc's 2nd cousin, Hanna, propped me up and took some pics of it to practice her "photography" skills. :) Here are some close-ups of the new 'do at our Christmas festivities...

Cuttin' up with Granddad in the serving line.... Marc's grandfather

In the deepest conversation with Marc's grandmother, Nanny, and his cousin, Monica... I was telling them the name of our baby!!
