Mason visits North Carolina!!

Well, we took Mason on his first road trip! Marc was in a wedding in Chapel Hill, NC of one of his best friends, Eric Yarbrough. Since Mason has been such a wonderful little baby and nothing seems to phase him, we decided to take him on this little adventure. He and I were just gonna stay home (the original plan before Mason was born), but I didn't think we could be separated from Daddy for an entire weekend! Plus, we didn't want Daddy to have to go alone and be driving home by himself on Father's Day! Mason slept all the way there and back (took us 10 hours to get back on Sunday!), but we did have to stop several times to feed/burp/change him. That was definitely okay though cuz it gave us lots of excuses to eat yummy fast food and Dairy Queen desserts all the way to North Carolina! Johnathan & Brooke Akin rode with us since Johnathan was in the wedding as well. Brooke and I perched up in the back seat with Mason in between us and the boys were up front. To break up the long car trip some, we stopped and spent the night in Knoxville Thursday night. Brooke's parents lived there so we stayed with them, where her momma had a "Pack 'n Play" all set up that Brooke's little nephew sleeps in. Mason LOVED sleeping in it and did not make a peep!! Well, we really didn't get to all lay down and go to sleep 'til about 4 am, but for the few hours we all were in bed Mason slept very soundly. He also slept through the entire wedding & reception as he was passed around and loved on by all of our friends. Once we actually got to NC, he did have his two fussiest nights of his existence but I don't blame him cuz he was in some strange thang called a hotel staying in HIS brand new "Pack 'n Play" thang that he had never seen before in his entire life. He didn't like his own as much as he did the one at Brooke's parents'! So, I was pretty much up all night with him Fri. & Sat. night, but it's good for me to have a couple of hard nights as a new mom! Hee hee!! Anyway, besides that, it was a WONDERFUL weekend spent with our best friends who we really don't get to see very often, even though we live in the same city as some of them! We were re-united with our friend, Beth, who is currently living in Texas experiencing many fun nursing adventures, as well as our friends, Jason & Cassie and their little boy Taylor, who live in Alabama. Marc went to Lipscomb with Beth & Jason and Beth is one of my closest friends. Beth's mom came as well, along with Andrea and Cory, and our friend, Jana's, mom. So we had a fun little gang of us hanging out the entire weekend. Eric married the beautiful Kaylea who was first introduced to all of us gang at our New Year's 2005 celebration. It was such a fun wedding and we are SO happy for our Eric! We love him so much and it is such a blessing to see him so happy and in love!! Check out some of our fun pics from the weekend...

Mason Goes to Happy Hour... at Sonic!

Mason and I have been getting a little stir-crazy and sick of watching taped Days of our Lives episodes and listening to the same calm-your-baby cd over and over again while napping... SO, my mom came and kidnapped us on Saturday while Daddy was golfing and took us to Sonic for Happy Hour. Thank you. We haven't really been taking Mason inside public places yet, so we went to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and drink half-off slushies and drinks. It was the most fun! Marc even got done golfing earlier than he thought, so he joined us. We were there for 2 hours or something. And Mason was asleep the ENTIRE time! It did not even phase him that he was all perched up on top of some table with waitresses zooming past him on roller skates and his parents and Nana Kay getting too excited with all the fun Happy Hour drinkin'!! And of course we had to capture all these memories on camera!!

Introducing... MASON THOMAS MOORE!!!

Our sweet baby boy is here!!! I'm soooo sorry that the momma has been a little slow in getting this information to you all! Mason was my beautiful first Mother's Day surprise!!! He was born Sunday, May 11th at 6:23 pm. He weighed 7 lbs and was 20 inches. He is just perfect!!! He looked JUST LIKE his daddy the second he came out! It was unbelievable. These last 4 weeks and one day have been indescribable. They have definitely been life-changing, but we could not even imagine our lives before May 11th. Being a parents is the most fulfilling experience Marc and I have ever had. I'll share the very interesting labor experience later but now I'm excited to put some pictures on this thang and I know that most of y'all have been waiting to see them!

We have taken over 600 pictures so far, so check back often for lots of new posts! I promise I'm going to be better now about posting now that I'm feeling a little better. We have so many cute pictures of the little new things Mason does each and every day. It's been the most fun being his mommy!!!
